    237. Li'l Abner's Gal Daisy Mae (2002).

Voluptuous Daisy Mae Scragg (see also button #260) was not just the most beautiful and desirable woman in Dogpatch. As numerous strip adventures demonstrated, Daisy Mae was the most desirable woman in the world. But spurning the attention of salivating millionaires and movie stars, she saved her heart for only one man: an undeserving lout named Li'l Abner Yokum (see button #236). And saved it and saved it.

Despite her trademark plunging polka-dot peasant blouse and other allures, Li'l Abner could care less about Daisy Mae or any woman. He was focused solely on manly chores like fishin', wrassling, his career (as a mattress tester) and religiously reading comic strips about his "ideel," Fearless Fosdick (see button #239). After eighteen long years of escaping her in suspenseful Sadie Hawkins Day races (see button #238) Abner was finally and elaborately tricked into marrying Daisy Mae in 1952. Their celebrated comic strip wedding made headlines and the cover of Life magazine.

Kitchen Sink Press published twenty-seven 12" x 9" volumes of Li'l Abner Dailies, many of which are still available in this web store. This is the 2nd of 7 Li'l Abner buttons created by DKAA, the agency which represents Capp Enterprises, Inc. It is intended for promotional purposes only but, while supplies last, you can acquire this advertising item for $2.50.

    1.25 inch diameter

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
