COMMIES FROM MARS: The Red Planet. No.1. (1973) First printing---Error edition.

Tim Boxell cover. Comics by Boxell, Bill Crawford, Steve Stiles ("Adolf Hitler Funnies"), Grass Green and Howard Cruse ("Barefootz"). Great back cover of an ancient Mickey Mouse by Peter Manesis. Inside cover illo by Peter Poplaski. Inside back cover ad drawn by R. Crumb to promote his new 78 rpm Ordinary record. However ---and we stress--- this is not the comic to buy if you actually want to read the pages in order. This is the error edition!

Kitchen Sink Press' printer screwed up and got the inner pages hopelessly out of order. They dutifully corrected the error for the normal edition, but publisher Denis Kitchen salvaged a carton or two of this mangled edition as souvenirs. Copies were given away over the years as a gag gift but never offered for sale until now. Approximately 100 to 150 copies of this edition at the outside survived. An interesting item for the underground comix collector who wants every printing and aberration (Raises an interesting question: is this the "real" first printing?). Bonus value: a cruel item to give to someone to read if they're already off-balance. Mint condition (aside from page order). Kitchen Sink Press.
