Li'l Abner Vol. 10 (1944) by Al Capp.

INVENTORY NOTE: Down to LAST box of these!!!

Great Frank Sinatra parody as Li'l Abner portrays an emaciated teen idol. Also, Abner begins his lifelong obsession with the comic strip-within-a-comic-strip as Fearless Fosdick is introduced this year. Beginning as a parody of Chester Gould's Dick Tracy, Fosdick becomes one of Capp's most enduring and popular characters. Mystery author and then-writer of Dick Tracy Max Allan Collins, provides a fascinating history of Fosdick in his introduction. A second typically thorough introduction is by Dave Schreiner. Appassionata Van Climax (a fixture in the Broadway musical) also makes her debut this year. A Nine foot three inch "Monster" girl chases Abner in the Sadie Hawkins race and Mammy Yokum meets her recurring nemesis Joan L. Sullivan. 12" x 9" paperback (168 pages).

NOTE: This volume is long out of print. We only have a small handful of copies remaining. Because of the scarcity, these command a premium price in comparison to volumes well stocked.
