Howard Cruse's Wendel:All Together is a great comics collection. If you happen to be gay, you'll especially love Wendel Trupstock, Ollie Chambers and their sometimes wild cast of friends. But if you happen to be straight --trust us!-- you'll enjoy this humanistic work as well. As syndicated cartoonist Lynn Johnson (For Better or For Worse) puts it, "Howard Cruse takes the mystery from gay relationships and proves that people are just people after all."

Howard Cruse is one of America's finest cartoonist. He arose out of the underground comix movement with contributions to Snarf, Bizarre Sex, Comix Book and many other titles, but he is probably most associated with the break-out Gay Comix series, which he edited at the start and contributed to and Stuck Rubber Baby, his acclaimed graphic novel. But perhaps Cruse's most enduring and accessible work is Wendel, a strip that was syndicated in The Advocate during the Reagan-Bush years of the '80s. This volume contains every episode f that fondly remembered strip. Do not confuse this 272-page square bound collection with the out-of-print Wendel magazine-format comic published by Kitchen Sink Press (which we also offer in this store).

This book is from the artist's personal inventory and the lion's share of these book sales go to Howard.
