    10" diameter LP, 33 rpm. This authentic collectible, over forty years old, seriously examined comic art long before it became fashionable. Howard Langer of Folkways Records interviews the world famous creator of "Li'l Abner." Al Capp was at the peak of his career in 1959 (the Paramount film version of his long-running Broadway musical was hitting screens nationwide). Side One features two parts: "Introduction" and "The Comic Strip: Popularity, Art, Laughter, Character, Humor, Mass-Media." Side two also has two segemts: "The Comic Strip: Ideas, Sadie Hawkins Day, Kigmy and the Shmoo, Fearless Fosdick" along with "The Mechanics of Comic Strips: Pressures and Pressure Groups; The Cartoonist as a Person." Fascinating dialogue with one of the medium's true masters. Bonus: Included in the record jacket is a full transcript of the conversation. Mint condition (still in original shrink-wrap!)
