    In 1986 Will Eisner entered into a deal with Warner Brothers for a SPIRIT pilot that ended up as a made-for-TV movie starring Sam Jones that aired in 1987. Eisner agreed to create a handful of watercolor drawings as set guides for the director and set designer.

    In this frame The Spirit with a partially torn shirt holds tight fists, anticipating trouble. He’s in a museum festooned with artifacts including statues and knights of armor.

    Size/medium/condition:     13 x 10 inches (33 x 25.4 cm). Watercolor and Ink on thick illustration board. Excellent condition. 
     
     Keep in mind that Eisner created relatively few full color originals. This is one of only a handful remaining in the estate’s possession.

    Provenance: Warranted to be from the Will Eisner estate, which this agency exclusively represents.
