184. Steven [Skull &
Crossbones] (1995).
Cartoonist Doug Allen's Steven
was a self-syndicated strip about a hard-drinking boy-man
with a strong cult following which appeared in alternative weekly
newspapers. Kitchen Sink Press collected Steven into several
magazine-size comics. Though a cool Steven Beer metal sign was
aborted, the company created other Steven merchandise (T-shirts,
hats and even a temporary tattoo) and promoted the property
at shows with two giveaway buttons (see also #185). This wordless
black and white version presumed (perhaps too optimistically)
character recognition on the part of recipients. 1.25 inch diamter.
$2.50
One note, for serious button collectors,
you may want to read the KSP
BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for
identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years,
or see the COMPLETE
KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient
while it loads.
