200. Dope Fiends Cards
(1995).
The Doug Aanes-authored Dope
Fiends, a boxed trading card set from Kitchen Sink Press,
featured the fascinating and lurid '50s and '60s cover art from
paperback novels about low-life junkies, morphine addicts and
even the unspeakables activities of, yes, pot-smokers. The opium-riddled
face on this button is from one such cover by an unknown artist.
(The definitive "hooked" expression on this face was
so priceless that it was recycled again on buttons #248 and 249.)
1.25" diameter. $6.00
