    89. I Contributed to The Spirit Jam (1981). Art by Will Eisner.

Eisner's legendary masked crimefighter was celebrated in a special issue of Kitchen Sink's Spirit Magazine No. 30 in 1981. Fifty different and diverse comics creators, including Harvey Kurtzman, Milton Caniff, Frank Miller, Richard Corben, Howard Cruse, Peter Poplaski, Bill Sienkiewicz, Brian Bolland, John Byrne, Brent Anderson, Archie Goodwin, Eisner himself and many others contributed to the unprecedented 36-page homage. Each of the 50 artists and writers was presented with this souvenir button with their name hand-lettered by Spirit publisher and co-contributor Denis Kitchen. A small number of extra buttons are available here with either a blank name stripe or the word "speciman" on the stripe. (See also #16 and 94.) Diameter 2.25 inches. $7.50

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
