More Hollywood Characters Trading Cards - NO box (1992).

This card set holds a double appeal. It profiles 36 memorable character actors and actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood, such as Boris (Frankenstein) Karloff... Edward G. Robinson... Basil (Sherlock Holmes) Rathbone... Margaret (Marx Bros.) Dumont... Percy (Pa Kettle) Kilbride... Marjorie (Ma Kettle, Tugboat Annie) Main... Broderick (Highway Patrol) Crawford and Hattie (Gone with the Wind) McDaniel, which is attractive enough. But each actor each is hand-picked and lovingly rendered by some of America's top cartoonists and illustrators such as Mark (Xenozoic Tales) Schultz... Bill (Zippy the Pinhead) Griffith... Charles (Black Hole) Burns... Dan (Kings in Disguise) Burr... Rick (Victorian Murders) Geary... Drew (Entertainment Weekly) Friedman... Bill (Death Rattle) Hartwig... Dal Lazlo and others in an understated black plus two soft tones.

The incisive card backs are written by P.S. Mueller, syndicated cartoonist and contributor and radio voice for The Onion. It was popular enough that a follow-up set was issued (More Hollywood Characters). Hollywood Characters was published by Kitchen Sink Press in 1992 as a boxed set that is long sold out.

But we are offering here complete original 36-card sets without the box. Each card is NM/Mint. For those of you who like to organize your cards in clear pocket pages, the box is extraneous anyway. The boxed sets go for $25 and up at comic and film conventions.

This full set is a bargain at just $8.95
