FRANK STACK. "Dr. Feelgood Meets
Superman" from "The
Casebook of Dr. Feelgood" (1977).
Cigar-chomping Dr. Feelgood was
Stack's ongoing purveyor of down-home psychiatric advice, who
starred in two issues of Feelgood Funnies (Rip Off
Press) and other venues. In this classic match-up Frank
Stack parodies the social and legal obstacles a real Clark
Kent/Superman would face in the modern world. Signed
twice (at top and in final panel). Perfect item for a collector
who is a fan of both underground comic books and Superman.
Provenance:
This original art is warranted to be from the artist's personal
collection (Stack is exclusively represented by this agency).
The art comes with a letter of authenticity upon request. See
"bio" section for information on Frank
Stack (a.k.a. Foolbert Sturgeon), one of the very
earliest and most important of the underground cartoonists.
Size/medium/condition/price: Drawn in brush, pen and ink, with some white-out
