WILL
EISNER original art from INVISIBLE
PEOPLE “Mortal Combat” (1992)
pg. 05
Title/date/description: A dramatic
and touching page from the “Mortal Combat,” the 3rd
chapter of INVISIBLE PEOPLE,
created by Eisner in 1992.
Hilda has taken care of her ailing father since she
was ten years old. At forty her father finally dies
and she explodes in anger as being effectively a
“prisoner,” and in genuine grief.
Page 5 (of Chapter 3) on the art page itself and
page 90 in the Kitchen Sink and DC Comics editions.
Invisible People was the only Eisner graphic novel
that was first serialized in comic books (three,
titled SANCTUM, THE POWER, and MORTAL COMBAT) and
then collected into a single book in 1993.
Size/medium/condition: Blue pencil,
pen, brush, and ink on heavy Bristol board measuring
11 x 14 inches. Eisner’s official studio rubber
stamps on reverse. Excellent condition.
Provenance: Warranted to be from the
Will Eisner estate, which this agency exclusively
represents. There can be no safer or more
certain purchase of Eisner art.
