Sundays: 1946-1949 (IDW Publ.,
2014) BACK COVER
Back cover (Lot of 2). “The One
and Only Superman” image stands on its own without the
front cover companion. The Man of Steel stands with
hands on hips as adversaries from the late 1940s flash
before him: Cleopatra, The No-Such Animal, The One-Man
Super-Circus, and Super-Crime-Stopper, all based on the
design of a classic 1957 comic book advertisement. $1,500
Medium/Size/Condition: India
ink on heavy Bristol board measuring 15” wide x 20.5”
high (38.1 x 52.1 cm). Signed and dated (2014) in lower
left, with additional signature and creation history at
bottom. There is some cutting/scraping on the man in the
circus panel, the sub-machine gun, and a few other tiny
areas. The lot includes Poplaski’s color guide: color
pencils on a photocopy (two pieces of papers taped
together) of the finished art, close to the same size as
the original. Both items are in excellent condition,
