    In this early and exquisite scene from Will Eisner’s very personal and autobiographical account of his family’s experiences with anti-semitism, the young Willie gets into a street fight with neighborhood toughs as his younger brother Julian watches. The Italian boys correctly surmised that Julian was a Jewish name, which provoked the fight with the new kids on the block.

    After Will was bloodied by the incident he instructed Julian that his name henceforth would be “Pete." And that’s precisely what Julian was always called by family and friends from that time forward! Terrific action-packed panels.

    Size/medium/condition:     11 x 14 inches (28 x 35.6 cm). Ink on Bristol board with grease pencil gray shading. Excellent condition.
