WILL EISNER (1917-2005) • Last Day in
Vietnam (2000) Page 40.
Last Day in Vietnam departs from
the pattern and setting of the vast majority of Eisner’s
domestic stories. In this graphic novel, Eisner recounts
stories he heard and witnessed firsthand while in the
military or while doing research for P*S magazine,
which he produced for the U.S. Army as a civilian. This
page, from the Korean War story, features a G.I. from
America’s South.
Size/Medium/Condition:
Last Day in Vietnam, also differing from
Eisner’s other graphic novels, is drawn with ink and a
grease pencil on a textured pebble board measuring 12 by
16 inches. The reverse has the official Eisner Studio
rubber stamp. The original is in excellent condition.
Provenance:
The Will Eisner estate is exclusively represented by
the Denis Kitchen Art Agency, an affiliate of Steve
Krupp’s Curio Shoppe and Gallery. This drawing is
warranted to be an authentic original created by Will
Eisner, and sold on behalf of his estate. Note: Image

commercial purposes requires permission.
