    Will Eisner Original Ink Art

WILL EISNER (1917-2005). Title/date/description: Science Fiction illustration, "Hello, Huston [sic]!" (~1988). Note that Eisner misspelled "Houston." We don't know if this was corrected prior to publication since we don't know where it was published. The futuristic gag cartoon was drawn by Eisner at the request of illustrator and friend Kelly Freas (who, ironically, died the very same day as Eisner). This is believed to have appeared in a Bridge Publications title, one of two or three illustrations Eisner provided to Freas. Eisner stopped doing these when he discovered that Bridge was the publishing arm of L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology religion. This is a very rare example of a science fiction illustration by Will Eisner. [If you know which publication this illustration appeared please contact us so the archival record can be complete.]

Size/medium/condition: Pen, brush and ink on 11" x 14" Bristol board. There are small amounts of White-out aplied (haze lines + alien details). Signed in lower left corner. Excellent condition.

    Price: $1,200

Provenance: Warranted to be original and from the Will Eisner estate, which this agency exclusively represents. Comes with a signed Bill of Sale certifying clear title of ownership.
