Joel Beck Print: Fantasy Round Up

JOEL BECK (1944-1999). "Fantasy Round-Up" Art Print.

Print on textured paper, most likley from a Beck portfolio (Print Mint or Apple Mary?) circa mid-1960s. Dimensions: 10 inches x 14 inches. The plate is similar to themes in Beck's Visions and Dreams: 1963-73, A Portfolio of Fantasy Drawings, but it does not match and is on different paper. We do not have information on the particular portfolio this apparently comes from, but two apparent companion pieces, listed here as "Mountain Path" and "Serpentine Trail," are the identical size and on identical paper, with the first two sharing a common theme: mystery riders on fantasy creatures enduring long treks to reach mysterious futuristic destinations. The plate is neither signed or dated but is almost certainly from the mid-'60s. The original art for this image (2 piece Lot) is available elsewhere in the web gallery.

Condition: Slight curl in upper left corner. Half-inch cluster of pinpoint-size brown spots at bottom front edge, a few other light brown spots on reverse.

Provenance: Certified to be from the collection of a childhood friend of Beck.
