    163. San Diego Comic Con Volunteer (1992).

Following the San Diego Expo button (#154), Kitchen Sink was invited to create the official Expo button for 1992 (button #163). In addition KSP publisher Denis Kitchen in previous years had favorably observed the small army of hustling volunteers at previous San Diego Cons and thought these unpaid fans ought to take home a special souvenir. Several hundred of these buttons, featuring a castle on the quarter moon by Robert Williams, were donated to the con committee and given to convention volunteers in 1992. Though on the far left the button says "No. 1," implying a sub-series, the convention committee did not encourage the idea (perhaps because Williams was regarded by some as a misogynist?) and it the proposed reward series was abandoned before a tradition could be established.

    Rare. 1.25 inch diameter. $10.00

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
