    259. I Survived Bob Chapman's Dead Dog Party! (2002).

T-shirt magnate and publisher Bob Chapman, owner of Graphitti Designs, hosts the long-running annual "Dead Dog Party" that closes the exhausting San Diego Comic Convention every summer. Button magnate and part-time cartoonist Denis Kitchen continues a new tradition: souvenir Dead Dog party buttons (see buttons #202, 231, 262, 266 & 276).

His 2002 version, drawn in his "doggie-style," features a wasted hound answering the "I Survived" portion of the button with a raspy, "Well... Just barely!" The ridiculous detail in this tiny button proves why Kitchen is sometimes called "the King of Whiskers" by fans who have nothing better to do with their time or magnifying glasses. A couple hundred of these 1.25 inch diameter buttons were given away to semi-coherent party attendees. If Bob didn't invite you to his 2002 bash but you want the souvenir for your button collection or to impress an impressionable girlfriend, you can nab one while supplies last.

    1.25 inch diameter. $2.50

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
