    77. Ripon, Wis. (1977).

The last of KSP's local souvenir buttons (see also #4-A, 64, 66, 73-76). This button featured the nearest outpost of "civilization" in proximity to the company's remote Princeton base. The relatively large Ripon (pop. 7,000) was most famous as the "Birthplace of the Republican Party." Some also knew it started as a utopian socialist community. Ripon College's most famous "alumni" were both drop-outs who became famous actors: Spencer Tracy and Harrison Ford. In honor of the true party of Abraham Lincoln, Kitchen Sink happily sold these souvenir buttons to the Nixon and Reagan Republicans passing through town. Drawing of the little white schoolhouse by Peter Poplaski.

    2.25 inches diameter. $2.00

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
