    84. Holly Happyface (1977).

Robert Crumb created a set of eleven odd buttons for Kitchen Sink in 1977. Each had a sub-set number within a small circle. Holly Happyface ("My mind's asleep! Ha Ha") is No. 6 in the sub-set. [Some collectors have asked if Crumb based this button on Denis Kitchen's blonde second wife Holly. This is simply a coincidence of names. Crumb designed this button before Kitchen met the other Holly.] Do not ask us why sub-set #6 is the third listed in the master number list. It was assigned master list #84 long before collectors asked such questions. Also please don't ask us why only four of the eleven Crumb designs appeared in 1977 or why it took five long years for six others in the set to appear (see #113-118). Finally, please do not ask us why the eleventh button (No. 10 in the sub-set) was inexplicably never manufactured. Just enjoy the ten actually produced while supplies last.

    2.25" diameter. $5.00

One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads.
