An excellent environmentally-friendly R. Crumb cover leads this top underground comix anthology. The lead story, "Life in the Ice and Salt Works," is by Dave Schreiner and Denis Kitchen. Other features: "Marijuana: Crutch or Cure?" by Justin Green; "Computer Date" by Jay Kinney; "How the Mona Lisa Got Her Smile," a "Two Fools" story by Ted Richards and Willy Murphy; "C-C-Comix," a psychedelic tour de force by John Pound; "Don't Rain on My Parade," one of the earliest comics stories by American Splendor author and new movie star Harvey Pekar, drawn by Robert Armstrong; "Moo Koo" ["Ma Cow"] by Evert Geradts; "Big Marvy's Tips on Tooth Care" (much sicker than it sounds) by Howard Cruse; "Henry Henpeck" by the late Willy Murphy; "Food Trip" by Moondog and Mu creator George Metzger; "Mice Puzzle" by fantasy painter Carl Lundgren; and the autobiographical radical bomber "Wisconsin Story" by Sharon Rudahl. Plus two single pagers by the late great Joel Beck, including "The Agony and Ecstacy of an Underground Cartoonist!"
