NANCY & SLUGGO SILK NECKTIE (BLUE).

In 1990 Kitchen Sink Press, in conjunction with the secretive Bushmiller Society, produced a limited edition of just 250 silk "Nancy & Sluggo" neckties in Blue (an equal number were produced in Red, as well as a "Power" tie). Created by enigmatic cartoonist Ernie Bushmiller, polls showed that "Nancy" was for decades among the most popular of syndicated newspaper strips. Reviled by some for its alleged stupidity and shallowness, "Nancy" and her companion Sluggo are revered by others and continue to be a cult favorite, long after Bushmiller's death and the syndicate's ham-handed mutations of the strip.

The tie was designed by Denis Kitchen. This, by the way, is not chintzy polyester tie, but is a genuine Italian silk necktie (the legally required "100% silk" tag is on the underside along with Kitchen Sink's private label). It is in its original decorative see-thru gift box. These were never cheap ties. The limited edition (250) ties retailed in 1990 for $49.95. Only a handful of Blue Nancy & Sluggo ties remain in our archives. Mint in near mint box.
