Violent Cases by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean (hard cover edition).

Originally published as a softcover book by Titan Books in 1987 and Tundra in 1992, and scheduled to be reprinted by Dark Horse Comics, Kitchen Sink Press (which merged with Tundra in 1993), published the only hardcover edition of Violent Cases in the mid '90s. Though the indicia page erroneously says "second printing," that refers to the Tundra softcover second printing, from whose overrun KSP's hardcover edition was bound. Dave McKean created a wonderful new hat & rose dust jacket solely for this KSP hardcover edition. The hardcover board beneath the dust jacket features yet another artful McKean creation: a partial skeleton and logo printed with varnish on a dull black stock.
