    A traumatic page in which Will Eisner’s young aunt Goldie has fled her sister’s care to take work at a seedy bar. The young girl punches her protective sister to underscore that she will remain independent no matter what risks she has exposed herself to.

    The last panel with a customer ass-grabbing the young waitress portends what follows. To the Heart of the Storm is packed with emotionally fraught true stories about Will’s own experiences and those of his family. The dramatic panels are presented against an all-black background to stark effect.

    Size/medium/condition:     11 x 14 inches (28 x 35.6 cm). Ink on Bristol board with grease pencil gray shading. Excellent condition. 

    Provenance: Warranted to be from the Will Eisner estate, which this agency exclusively represents.
