Will Eisner felt that a strong grasp of
skeletal anatomy was an essential cornerstone for expressive anatomy,
so his book begins with several wonderfully rendered skeletons. The
ovals on right side indicate that the typical human is 7.5 skulls in
height. A comparison of the sharply detailed original with the
published version shows that considerable subtlety was lost in the
reduction and reproduction.
Brush and ink with some white-out on 7.7.5
x 11 inch vellum mounted on 8.5 x 11 5/8 white paper whose reverse is a
photocopy of the original when at an earlier stage. The headline is on
a separate small sheet of paper clear taped to the vellum. 2nd piece,
on 8.5 x 11 sheet, is Eisner�s guide with glued photocopy, white-out
and his original hand lettering and notations. $400 for Lot of
