182. Cadillacs & Dinosaurs:
Grith (1993). No. 6 in a set
of 7 C&D buttons.
The Grith are a mysterious subterranean
species of half-human/half-dinosaur creatures that possess important
knowledge about earth's mutated eco-system. Xenozoic era shaman
Jack Tenrec (see button #179) alone is able to communicate
periodically with the cryptic Grith but they do not "speak"
to him. Their throwback means of communication involves arranging
antique Scrabble squares into sentences!
This button series, designed by Ray
Fehrenbach, was among the items (including boxed candy bars)
created by Kitchen Sink Press itself shortly before it ended
its Wisconsin phase, moved to Massachusetts and merged with Tundra
Publishing.
1.25 inch diameter. $3.00
One note, for serious button collectors,
you may want to read the KSP
BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for
identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years,
or see the COMPLETE
KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient
while it loads.
