79. Dizzy Ratstein (1977).
Less known but no less hip than Mickey
Rat was Dizzy Ratstein. The goateed Dizzy (named after
Gillespie) was a jazz musician who appeared in several of the
underground comix episodes headlined by Mickey. Since cartoonist
Bob Armstrong was also a hep cat musician (R. Crumb and
his Keep-on-Truckin' Orchestra and the Cheap Suit Serenaders)
one can surmise that he blended both professions when telling
Dizzy stories.
2.25 inch diameter. $4.00
One note, for serious button collectors,
you may want to read the KSP
BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for
identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years,
or see the COMPLETE
KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient
while it loads.
