     R. CRUMB 1972 ORDINARY RECORD POSTER

An exceptionally rare poster issued by Krupp Comic Works (Kitchen Sink Press) in 1972 to promote Robert Crumb's very first record, "River Blues" and "Wisconsin Wiggles."

The record, on the "Ordinary" label, remarkably, was 78 rpm, a format already very obsolete in 1972. Few contemporary record players still played that speed. But, the color poster trumpets this format in a deliberate anti-marketing strategy by Crumb and producer Denis Kitchen, who both collected 78's.

The poster was supplied to the headshops and record stores that bought minimal quantities of the records. The record itself is hard to find; the promotional poster is extremely difficult to find. What we have is from Kitchen's personal archives.

Measures 11.5 inches x 17.5 inches on heavy card stock. Excellent original condition (near mint). We will ship this item flat, with great care, between several sheets of cardboard. $65.00

NOTE: We also have the original 1972 78rpm Ordinary Record and two 1972 promotional buttons, both with Crumb art, elsewhere in our web store.
