CRUMB MOVIE POSTER.
Original first-printing poster for
the film Crumb. Directed by Terry Zwigoff
and "presented" by David Lynch, the film won
the Grand Jury Prize at the 1995 Sundance
Film Festival and made the Top Ten list of most
major critics. The disturbing documentary offered a
remarkable close-up of underground cartoonist Robert Crumb, his brothers Max and Charles,
their mother (off-screen), his son Jesse,
various ex-girlfriends and wife Aline Kominsky-Crumb. The intricate and grotesque border by Robert
Crumb (done in the style of the early Kurtzman
MAD magazine borders he so respects) is
difficult to "read" in this small electronic image,
but is very easy to see on the actual poster. In fact
you will find yourself drawn again and again to new
deatil if the poster is displayed. Photos (by Erik
Kroll) of R. Crumb and an object of his
desire form the center with prominent quotes from
critics.
Measures 27 x 40 inches and
is shipped in a sturdy tube.
