"Little Nemo in
Slumberland" 3-D poster by Denis Kitchen (unsigned)
You’ve never seen a cartoon nightmare hit you
between the eyes like THIS poster! Denis
Kitchen’s earlier Major Arcana 3-D poster is a remarkable 50 levels of
depth, but wait till you get a load of his new
interpretation of Winsor McCay’s classic
strip “Little Nemo in Slumberland.” Nemo’s
strange dream of his toys coming to life floats
off the page in stunning depth. Most
self-respecting comics fans have 3-D glasses
laying around the house. If you have the red (left
eye) and blue (right eye) variety, you can put
them on right now and see the basic effect on your
laptop. Naturally, the large (18 x 24 inch)
paper version will be even more impressive, so
you’ll want to order the real thing. It comes with
its own 3-D glasses!
If you’re curious to see this same image in flat
but full color, see Denis Kitchen’s contribution to the oversize Little
Nemo: Dream Another Dream (Locust Moon
Books, 2014). The black & white original art
for that volume was manipulated by 3-D maestro Jason
Little to get the version you see here.
You’ll want to hang this on your dorm or man cave
(or other) wall to stare at endlessly and, also,
to amaze your visitors.
View under the
influence of drugs at your own risk! View the
paper 3-D print under bright light for best
results. If you walk away from the image, or go
side to side, it follows you!
The 18 by 24 inch poster ships in a sturdy tube
and comes with 3-D glasses. $15 + shipping.
A version on a heavier card stock, signed by
Kitchen, is also available here.
