THE ART OF WILL EISNER: A RETROSPECTIVE (1988).

Signed & numbered variant printing of the official poster of Eisner's large retrospective at the Museum of Cartoon Art when it was housed in a castle in Rye Brook NY. This is a large print (25 inches x 39 inches), somewhat larger than the standard museum poster (see below). The centerpiece image features "dying" carpenter Jacob Shtarkah confronting a cockroach in an alley (a central moment in the graphic novel A Life Force), framed by early Spirit splash pages.

This version is printed in six colors on a stiff, acid-free rag card stock with light-sensitive inks. Signed and numbered by Will Eisner in a edition of 950 (though several hundred were later destroyed in a flood). The few remaining ones are in near mint condition. All show slight moisture residue around the corners (far away from the image area) and have an ever so slight wave to the paper. Shouldn't matter when framed. Shipped in a sturdy tube.
