THRILLING MURDER COMICS (1971).
One of the earliest (the earliest?)
underground horror comic books. "Terrifying Tales of Total
Paranoia" by the late Jim Osborne ("Kid Kill!"),
Seth Deitch (covers), Kim Deitch, Bill Griffith (pre-Zippy),
Robert
Crumb ("Jumpin' Jack Flash"), Spain Rodriguez
("In the Gloom of the Night"), Greg Irons and
S. Clay Wilson (violent centerfold and inside back cover).
This book would have convinced good Dr.
Frederic Wertham that 1950s comics like Crime Does Not
Pay were mere child's play. This comic also contains a very
effective gimmick: a second color ---red--- is added to most
stories to emphasize the blood. There's a lot of red ink!
Published by San Francisco Comic Book
Co. (Gary Arlington). Second printing (matte cover).
Two Versions: (select one)
VF/NM
condition. Price: $15.00
VG/Fine condition.
Price: $10.00
ADULTS ONLY!
